Okay, fine, I’ll tell you. For the past four months, I have been working with the youth at Miracle Life Family Church in Foxdale, Lusaka, and it has been a humbling experience, to say the least. Through music rehearsals, team meetings, one-on-one interactions, fun days and one wickedly awesome camp, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with an awesome bunch of people who I really feel will be the movers and shakers, the culture influencers in the coming years. I’ve had the chance to be a part of this great, overwhelming but rewarding work, and it has been one heck of a roller coaster ride.
So what’s this Workshop thing then? I’m getting to that, I’m getting to that. Till today, I still wish there were more hours in a day, but since that’s not possible, I have to do more than the two or so hours a week I get to link with these great kids. That’s what the Workshop is. A group of young, energetic youths who decided they aren’t going to stay comfortable and remain average and ordinary, who weren’t okay with okay, and are now moving forward. And the Workshop is where this happens.
I’m not going to take too much time with what’s really just an introduction, but watch this space for new, bi-monthly posts which I hope will help you as much as they have helped me.
